The 4th Cinema and Philosophy Symposium was held in Ankara City Council Building on 10-12 December 2021.
As in previous years, the organization was enriched with the participation of the guests in the production side of cinema, as well as paper presentations of those who work in the academic field and those who think about cinema-philosophy. Meryem YAVUZ, Doğan SARIGÜZEL and Hayk KIRAKOSYAN took place in the cinematographers panel, while Prof. Dr. Thomas E. WARTENBERG from Mount Holyoke University, Dr. Tarja LAINE, and Dr. Tal. S. SHAMIR, who are also on the editorial board of the Journal of SineFilozofi participated in the symposium as international keynote speakers.
In addition, FIBRESCI and Ecumenical Jury Award-winning director from the Berlin International Film Festival and academician of UDK University of Berlin, Prof. Thomas ARSLAN took part in the director’s panel as a guest of the symposium. A short film panel took place in the symposium with the participation of short film directors Onur KEŞAPLI, Zeynep Merve UYGUN, Burak KAPLAN and Sezen KAYHAN this year.
Thank you for all your participation in the symposium. We invite you to be a participant and/or audience in the 5th Cinema and Philosophy Symposium next year, where we can talk and share our ideas on cinema and philosophy for three days, and which will allow new “thought” productions.
